The Stone That Changed Everything: My Moldavite Story 💚

Some crystals find you. Moldavite doesn't just find you. It redirects you entirely.

People ask me about transformation all the time at Soulful Abundance.

"What stone is good for big change?" "I feel like something needs to shift but where do I start?"

My answer is always the same. And I always follow it with my story.

I started wearing a moldavite ring before I had a shop. Before I had a storefront. Before any of this existed. I was buying crystals during the pandemic because I needed something fun to do,  and selling them on Etsy from home.

I bought a moldavite and herkimer diamond ring from one of my favorite sellers. Prima Materia - they used to have a store downtown but had to close in ‘20. Then they started to have Facebook live crystal shows - it was a fun way to spend my time locked up at home.

I put on that ring, and everything changed.

Shortly after that, I opened my little store down in the courtyard. And now I have the big shop on the main block of Water Street in Port Townsend.

“And now I own a crystal store!” I say this every time someone asks me about the Moldavite transformation, and I watch their eyes go wide. Because that is what this stone does.

It doesn't nudge you gently toward your path. It picks you up and puts you on it with a big push.

💚 What Is Moldavite?

Moldavite is not from Earth. Not entirely, anyway.

It was born approximately 15 million years ago when a meteorite struck what is now the Czech Republic. The collision was so intense that it fused the meteorite with the Earth's surface, sending molten glass into the atmosphere. When it fell back to Earth, it landed as Moldavite, a rare, forest-green tektite found nowhere else on the planet.

Star-born. Earth-landed. Transformed by fire and force.

It's fitting, really, that a stone created by the most dramatic collision imaginable would carry the energy of radical transformation.

Because that is exactly what it does.

💚 What Moldavite Does

Moldavite is known as the Stone of Transformation, and it takes that job seriously.

It doesn't work slowly. It doesn't wait for you to feel ready. It accelerates. It opens doors you didn't know existed and closes ones that were never meant for you. It removes obstacles from your path, sometimes forcefully, always purposefully.

It activates the heart chakra and the third eye simultaneously. It opens you to higher intuition and deeper truth. It clears old patterns, old beliefs, and old identities that are keeping you small.

It also has a reputation for bringing synchronicities, meaningful coincidences that feel less like luck and more like the universe arranging things on your behalf.

One important note: Moldavite is powerful! If you've never worked with it before, start slowly. Some people feel its energy immediately, a warmth in the hand, a flutter in the chest, a sudden emotional release. That's known as the Moldavite flush and it's completely normal. It just means the stone is working.

Moldavite is often paired with herkimer diamonds. Put them together and you get an amplified transformation. 💚 The Soulful Abundance Story

When I look back at the last few years, the moldavite thread runs through all of it and I think about it when I put my ring on. (Hint, I don’t always wear it, I put it on when I need that energy).

A small Etsy shop became a tiny courtyard store. And in March 2025, Soulful Abundance moved into a beautiful, larger space on Water Street with a team of 3 amazing souls.

I didn't plan all of that. I followed the path as I was pushed along.

Moldavite has a way of showing you who you actually are and what you are actually here to do. And then it makes sure you do it.

💚 A Note on Rarity

Moldavite is genuinely rare. It exists in only one place on Earth, a specific region of the Czech Republic and the supply is finite. Estimates suggest only around 275 tons exist total, with most of it already on the market. New pieces surface occasionally, but increasingly rarely.

This is why it carries a higher price point than most stones. And it's also why fakes are common. Always buy from a source you trust.

I brought a small, carefully chosen collection back from the Tucson Gem Show this year, pendants in particular, because wearing Moldavite close to your body is one of the most potent ways to work with it.

We only carry a few pieces at a time. When they're gone, they're gone.
